New Holland B Series Loader Backhoes Named in Construction Equipment's Top 100 Products
March 02 2010

Construction Equipment magazine named the New Holland Construction B Series loader backhoes as one of the Top 100 Products of 2009. The six models in the B Series (B90B, B95B, B95B TC, B95B LR, B110B and B115B) were recognized in the heavy earthmoving category as some of the most innovative products.

The publication honored New Holland for the curved boom and one-touch flip-up hood featured on the new series of loader backhoes. The curved boom lowers the transport height by 6 inches and allows for greater digging forces and digging depths. The one-touch flip-up hood is easy to open, and provides wide, easy access for routine maintenance needs.

Construction Equipment editors annually select the 100 most exciting product introductions of the year. Advances in technology, new product lines, and significant improvement to existing products are considered to determine the top 100.

From digging or loading, to trenching or pushing, the B Series loader backhoes respond with the power and torque needed to get the job done fast. The six models range in gross horsepower from 95 to 110 (71 to 82 kW) and feature Tier 3-certified turbo-charged 4.5-liter engines. The loader backhoes excel in tough digging conditions, with loader breakout forces ranging from 12,169 lbs (5520 kg) to 15,212 lbs (6900 kg).

NH2 Recognized Globally

New Holland's Energy Independent Farm and NH2 tractor concept won the coveted Gold medal at the 2009 SIMA Innovation Awards Show in Paris. SIMA awards are selected every two years by a 15-judge panel of experts. The awards represent the best in technology and innovation in the agricultural industry.

New Holland NH2™ Fuel Cell Tractor

New Holland's experimental hydrogen-powered NH2™ tractor is a shining example of our commitment to making agricultural equipment that is at the cutting edge of innovation, while at the same time honors our tradition of smart, simple operation. Through this and other projects, we hope to provide farmers with new ideas that will one day allow them to achieve fuel autonomy. To see the NH2 in action, view video below.

The NH2 tractor is a 106-hp working prototype able to perform all the tasks of a T6000 tractor while operating almost silently and emitting only heat and water. The fuel cell generates less heat than an internal combustion engine; offers a consistent output of power; and does not produce polluting nitrogen oxides, soot particles or carbon dioxide. The clean operation of the tractor brings added health benefits when working in confined areas, such as barns or greenhouses.

Hydrogen-powered vehicles, such as the NH2 have been in development for several years, offering many benefits over battery-driven vehicles, which are efficient only in a stop-and-start cycle and take a long time to recharge.

Energy Independent Farming

Farmers are in a unique position to benefit from hydrogen technology. They have the space to install alternative electricity generation systems, such as solar, wind, biomass or waste, and then store that power as hydrogen. Apart from the environmental benefits, such a system would allow farmers to become energy independent and improve their financial stability.

The NH2 hydrogen-powered concept tractor and energy-independent farm concept puts an easier, safer, cleaner and more efficient future within reach. To learn more about the energy-independent farm concept, watch the video below.
